Nude makeup really is my go to look. Being a fair skinned lady, I just feel like the look really compliments me and makes me look fresh, and it's actually really simple to do. Below is the nude look I have been going to recently, and I am going to provide you with the product breakdown and mini tutorial on how to achieve this look on yourself.
Face:
- Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Mont Blanc- this is my all time favourite foundation, it gives a really good dewy coverage and the longevity is fantastic. I applied this with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush, which I have been LOVING, but a blog post will be coming your way shortly as to why I am converted!
- L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter in Light- I have also been loving this highlighter concealer for under my eyes. I usually use the YSL Touche Eclat which is really good for brightening the under eye area, however I wanted to try something new and this really is ticking all the boxes. It's got a good wack of coverage, blends under the eye area like a dream, and really brightens and hides those bags.
- Rimmel London Lasting Finish Concealer- I am really not sure how I feel about this concealer. It provides a really high coverage so is great for covering any blemishes or imperfections, however I find the texture really thick and hard to work with, and it can make your skin look cakey. I have also found that no matter how much you set this concealer in place, it does move around and I don't find the longevity that great. The best way of applying this I have found is with a stippling brush, which is what I did above on some blemishes I had on my chin and nose.
- NYX Studio Finishing Powder in Translucent- This stuff is my new holy grail. It just sets my foundation in place and makes my skin looks flawless and silky. I am going to do a blog post soon on why I am converted to translucent, loose powders instead of compact, but more on that later. I just took this on a fluffy powder brush and applied on my chin, under eye area, nose, and t zone.
- Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzing Powder- This is actually the older version of this bronzing powder. I just love it as it is a pale gals contour dream! It is not too orange or muddy, and certainly has the ashy tone to it which is great for contour as it creates the shadow look you are going for. I just took this very lightly under my cheek bones and across my forehead to add a little definition; I didn't want too much definition with this being a nude look.
- Benefit Sugar Bomb Blusher- This is the blusher on the far left of the top row on the biggest palette. I just love this blush as it makes your cheeks look so healthy and radiant with that bronze glow that's not too 'in your face'. I don't need any highlight when I use this stuff as it acts as a 2-in-1, I honestly could not live without it.
Eyes:
- Essence Lights of Orient Eyeshadow Palette- I used the top left shade, which is like a nude champagne shimmer colour, all over the lids with a fluffy brush. This colour just makes your eyes pop, and I actually really like the palette in general. The shades are all beautiful and they apply and blend really well with good pigmentation.
- Kiko Water Shadow in 200 Champagne- I then took this Kiko eyeshadow on a flat, small eye brush and patted it onto the centre of the lid. I find this just adds a more reflective look to the eye and the pigmentation is crazy! It would say however it leans more towards the silver gun metal/taupe shade than champagne. I really enjoy Kiko as a brand and will be certainly picking up some more products to try.
- Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara- I have been testing this mascara out and I have to say it is actually really nice. I usually use Benefit Roller Lash, however mine recently ran out and I just did not have the pennies to repurchase yet. I heard really good things about this Bourjois one and it lives up to its reputation. However saying that, my Benefit Roller Lash still holds it's top spot.
- L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Medium/Dark- I have had my eyebrows microbladed (more on that in a future post!) so my eyebrows only need a touch of colour and setting in place. I really like this tinted gel from L'Oreal and it's so easy to brush through and your eyebrows stay in place literally all day. I do find however that the brush dispenses quite a lot of product sometimes, so be sure to wipe some off beforehand.
Lips:
- M.A.C Lipstick in Fleshpot- This lipstick has a special place in my heart as it was my wedding lipstick! It is a pale skinned girls perfect pinky nude lipstick. It is a satin finish so has good pigmentation and longevity, but is not too drying in the process. I feel like the lip really makes the whole look and I will never get bored of this lipstick.
I do actually have 3 other nude lip alternatives for you all, depending on what you like.
From left to right:
- Kylie Cosmetics Lipgloss in So Cute- If you prefer more of the glossy lip alternative, this would be great. This gloss leans more towards the brown toned nude colour which is very popular at the moment. This is one of the most pigmented glosses I have ever come across and I get a lot of use out of it.
- No7 High Shine Lip Crayon- If you prefer more of a sheer colour on the lip, this is the product for you. Super easy to apply and again, more towards the brown toned nude.
- Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick in I'm Nude- This would be the most long lasting, matte, and pigmented choice of the 4, however it will also be the most drying. It leans more on the pink side of the nude shades and would suit darker skin tones.
I hope you enjoyed this look, and send me some pictures if you recreate it on yourself!
Love Hannah x
